Octopus, Session 3
Today 11ish EST: some vocals, maybe some shiny extras for extra shininess depending on how long the vocals take. I can’t believe I used to do this every week. Watch on my site or here.
Done for the day, mostly done with the song I think. I’ll let the mix sit overnight and see how it sounds tomorrow, there may be room for another tweak or two.

Octopus, Session 2
So I’m going to try this again – you can see the live stream at the top of the main page of my site, or you can go to http://ustream.tv/channel/joco-in-a-bubble where there’s a chat room and some other fancy stuff. Those of you who watched last time know the song is called Octopus, and it’s maybe about an Octopus or something (not really – it’s a metaphor!). I hope to nail down a bridge this afternoon.
Audio and video may be in and out again, we’ll see what happens.
OK: bridge is mostly there, needs words, a little more instrumentation to bring it in and out, but it’s mostly there. Next stop, vocals. Also maybe finish writing the lyrics. I may be able to tackle this tomorrow….
JoCo in a Bubble
Here’s me recording a new song live right now. I can almost guarantee this will be boring most of the time, and I will probably forget and pick my nose at some point. So be it!
OK, that’s it for the day. Don’t know how much of that you were able to see/hear, I could tell from the comments it was going in and out. Somewhere on ustream.tv there are recorded versions of some parts of this, I’ll see if I can figure it out and organize them a bit. I’m not sold on the bridge (feels too bridgey) and even if I was it doesn’t have words yet. I’ll live with it a while and see what happens – probably will be working on this again Tuesday.
Oh yeah, don’t drink Dr. Pepper – it’s disgusting!
