Joe’s Pub Down, Sellersville To Go

Wow, nice solid NYC crowd last night – thanks to everyone who came out. That Joe’s Pub sure does sound nice. Plenty of places to sit. Italian food. What’s not to like? Kristen Shirts was there to reprise some favorite uke versions of stuff, the zendrum came out to play, also I played banjo and harmonica AT THE SAME TIME in the first ever live version of “Someone Is Crazy.” You know me, always innovating.

This Friday I’ll be at the Sellersville Theater in Sellersville, PA with Paul and Storm. Early reports of ticket sales indicate that this might be one of those, erm, intimate shows. Or at least it would be if the venue wasn’t CAVERNOUS and FILLED WITH SAD EMPTY SEATS. You can rectify this situation by purchasing tickets here: http://www.st94.com/music/2007_10.html#coulton.

Ask the Optimist

Our good friend Jesse Thorn has waved his wand of many famous people and assembled an all-star (plus me) cast for a dramatic reading of George Saunders’ short story “Ask Mr. Optimist.” Check it: Andy Daly, Jen Kirkman, James Adomian, John Hodgman, Maria Bamford, M’er F’ing Jonathan Katz, Dan Klein, Xeni Jardin. And me. What am I doing in this list!? Who knows! But it’s a very funny story, and a very funny piece of audio, PLUS Brian Hogg of Hoggworks has created a video for it with puppets so that it’s also a very funny video. With puppets I tell you.

Listen here, laugh when ready…

Guitar Hero 2 Code Monkey

Someone has broken all sorts of rules and regulations to hack Code Monkey into a custom Guitar Hero 2 song – evidence can be found here. It’s kind of funny (and sad) for me to watch because it sort of underscores how boring a guitar player I am. Chunk chunk chunk chunk chunk chunk chunk chunk (Repeat 100X). Should have taken lessons. Thanks Andy!
