mtgordonParticipantThe price range is stratospheric, but I don’t recall this being mentioned here previously.

ColleenkyParticipantw00t! This is only a couple of hours away from me. How can I not go?! $600 isn’t that much for three days of con, lodging and food. How did you find this?
ETA: Aha. Just saw the post on Hodgman’s blog.

mtgordonParticipantBingo.

ParticipantColleen, can I room with you? The bf doesn’t sound too interested, but there is no way I’m not going.

ColleenkyParticipantThat sounds like a wonderful plan! (Though I haven’t run it past the husband yet.) 🙂

Participanti wonder if there will be more learning classes announced later. although honestly I’d already have a hard time choosing between Merlin Mann and the improv class.

ParticipantThis sounds awesome, but a bit out of my budget right now (especially considering I’d have to fly out to LA). Also, with only 100 people I wonder what the average age of attendees is going to be like…though I doubt I’d feel out of place either way, this looks like it would be a gathering of awesome geeks.
Maybe I’ll consider this the following year once I have an idea of what it was like.

ParticipantYeah, at first I thought “well, if i set it up as my vacation next year … but I still need to fly cross country to and fro, and then having no money for anything even vaguely vacationesque.”

ParticipantBut think of it this way: it could be a built in JoCoCon we were all discussing for a while!
September 6, 2008 at 8:24 pm #52394CoolJammer00
ParticipantHmm, if I was JoCo, I sure wouldn’t want to be trapped in a lodge with my rabid fans. There’s no divide between ShowCo and afterShowCo.

ParticipantOh man… I want to go to this so bad it hurts. And it’s only a couple of hours away from me. (very beautiful area, BTW)
Imagine, getting to see JoCo live AND becoming more awesome… heaven.

ParticipantHey gang… it's Jesse, founder/host of MaxFunCon, FoC (Friend of Coulton).
I am really, really excited about this, and really hope you guys will come and have fun with us. It will be a lot of stuff besides just Coulton and Hodgman. We've also got Hard N Phirm, Jimmy Pardo, more comics on the way (they're hard to in down this far in advance), some awesome seminars, Jordan Jesse Go!, You Look Nice Today, Merlin Mann… a bunch of stuff.
Also, I made a special discount code for you guys, which is mandelbrotset. Use it for twenty bucks off this week.
Sorry the tickets cost a bunch of money, but remember they include food and lodging, and the place is super, super nice. I went up there and fell in love with it.
If anybody has questions, lmk.

ColleenkyParticipantYou da man, Jesse! 🙂 (I’m sorry – can I say that if I’m a thirty-something, white dork?)
