ParticipantCrossposted from here.Very very rough version of a wiki here. Wiki gurus, if you’re out there, feel free to go wild with it. Content writers/uploaders, also feel free to go wild!
If this gets successful, we can always buy a new domain, but for now I’ll keep it on my existing one.
JoCopedia, the official Jonathan Coulton wiki, is up here. It has exactly the same content as the old wiki, including users, so go ahead and wiki away.

ParticipantI’ve mentioned it before, but for my money, the best performer-related wiki is This Might Be a Wiki, the They Might Be Giants wiki. Are there any ideas from there or anywhere else that people would like to see?

ParticipantI mean functionally. Color scheme means very little, in the, er, (tries not to say scheme) — well, it means very little.

Participantno i know, i was just surprised ^^ i like how it doesn't loook so much like a wiki and has a nice news front, or am i just being silly and thats acctually a diffrent part of the site?

ParticipantNo, you’re right, their front page is definitely part of the wiki — it looks as though they’ve got a little template set up where new news can be added.
The part of TMBW I’m most jealous of is their Song Themes. Note that basically every song in the TMBG canon is tagged with some themes.

AngelasticParticipantA tag cloud of song themes would be cool… we could see how prominent monkeys and robots actually are.

ParticipantReally, really need some wiki wizards around here. I struggled just to get the song details template (demonstration here) working, though that was more to do with server settings.

ParticipantSorry Lex, I’ve never set up a wiki before. Once it’s live I’ll happily write and/or edit, but I’m next to useless for the setup!

ParticipantI’ve toyed around with the template to add a link to the lyrics page — Lex, will you take a look at the suggestions here for a lyrics extension?
March 20, 2008 at 4:16 am #30588Agent Lex
ParticipantJust to let you know, the more extensions/images/non-plaintext content we add, the harder it will be to port JoCopedia to its eventual home! That’s why I’m only using the one song page as a testbed for now.
That said, I’ll try installing that lyrics extension. Looks simple enough.
ETA: Installed. Looks okay.

ParticipantAdditional feature – an image is no longer required in the song details template, since not all songs have Len images.

ParticipantWhile I’ve got you here, Lex, how about a couple more namespaces for Lyrics and Tabs (maybe more later, but I guess that’s all I can think of for now)? See here for instructions. Sorry to coerce you into doing all the grunt work after you so obligingly took my bait about wikis…

ParticipantThere. Lyrics, Tabs, Lyrics talk and Tabs talk namespaces all added. That’s all the wiki work I’m gonna do today! 😛
