I should mention that I never used the flash for these much bigger stars, not for fear of having the camera taken off me or of annoying people with flashes, but because in my opinion you get better pictures without flash, assuming the lighting folk have done their job.
I am estimating star size by gravity… these stars attracted more fans, though they weren’t necessarily any brighter. Must’ve been dark matter. Personally, I have a dork matter halo.
I’m always amused by people trying to take flash pictures of something projected on a screen. The room is dark, so obviously they need to use the flash!
It’s not their fault, it’s usually the camera that thinks, ‘the room is dark, so obviously I need to use the flash!’
I am so used to the turn-off-the-automatic-flash-as-soon-as-I-turn-on-the-camera reflex that I turn off the flash when it might actually be useful. Maybe I should find out how to make ‘no flash’ the default.
Dan++ – I’m pretty new to the forum as well, so of course you’ll be welcome. I hope. Not sure about the table seating thing, though they do say that arriving in a group is more likely to get a table on the Dingwalls site (which I trust more than the ticketweb one).
On cameras – I’ll hopefully be bringing one as well, but if that gets confiscated then I’ll also have my phone. Unfortunately, I can’t film video on the camera so that will have to be someone else’s job.
Based on JoCo’s recent Twitters he’s trying to get as much of the UK as possible, I mean he’s eating a vegetable free pie! Or am I overreacting? Things are a little crazy here.
I really hope they’ve done a decent job at the lighting else I’m not gonna get a decent video.
@Angelastic: speaking as someone who's had to perform with flashes going off, it can be very distracting. And you're right, the pictures look a lot better if the lighting and the photographer know what they're doing!
Final plans wise, Angelastic, my sister's going through Kings Cross on the way home from work at about twenty past four and we're going to do a bag drop-off so I don't have to carry my clothes for the weekend to the concert, so I'm not going to be able to go straight to the pub. I don't mind if you want to go ahead, but it shouldn't delay us very long if you want to stick with me and chat.

@MaW: Hmm… well maybe I should do a bag drop-off at my hostel while you’re doing your bag drop-off. Anyway let’s still meet at St. Pancras and I’ll decide what to do at the time.
I guess I should pack now. I’d better bring extra Swiss chocolate in case I need to bribe anyone. 🙂
