I hope it’s usable… sometimes my playing was a bit off and I made some
mistakes I think, but I have to admit as a whole I am pretty satisfied
with it as a result of a one hour recording / learning the bridge
    session 😀

@Spektugalo That’s pretty much how I feel about my uke track. 😉

I realised two things about the problems I’ve been having keeping my robot choir in line (how on Earth do you do it with kids, @Colleenky?) Firstly, I know why some lines crash the speech synthesiser: I’m giving it screwed up instructions for some of the mid-syllable pitch changes. Secondly, I realised that even when I get an error turning the speech into a sound file, it still creates the file.

Armed with this knowledge (and the threat of making the robots divide by zero — that always gets to them), I’ve done the last two verses as individual sound files. Let me know if they should be slower or faster or something; all I’d need to do is experiment with the words per minute.

Oh by the way, all you people who can play real musical instruments or who had the courage to actually sing, who are worried it’s not very good, just compare yourselves with the girl (me) who banged on a packet of toilet paper and you should feel better about yourselves. 😉 You are all awesome, and so am I.

JoCo has indeed taught you well — always, ALWAYS doubt yourself.
(that reminds me: did anyone send handclaps?)

    @Angelastic:

Actually I was planning to record a video of me hammering nails into a log in the rhythm of the snare thingie… I always thought it sounds like someone hitting nails with a hammer in a large hall.

But after listening to the isolated snare track it does indeed sounds similar to a basketball 😮

I just finished recording two quick videos, I am afraid I am running out of time here, it’s almost JoCo Day here in Germany, thus limiting natural light sources aka bad video lightning and my alarm clock will ring in about 6 hours, so I have to wrap it up, also for the sake of the editing people 😀

Can’t wait to have a look at the finished product some time tomorrow 😀

Aww, it’s a shame you’re not going to hammer nails into a log in the middle of the night. It would annoy the neighbours but it’d be really cool in the video. 😀 I guess you need nails to put your home back together after the explosion in last year’s video.

    Aight,
uploaded my mediocre voice and guitar tracks as well as badly lit singing and guitar videos… the videos are in WMV; I hope that’s ok and everything’s still in time…
I also noticed that the sound is just a tiny bit off on the guitar video but I am way too tired to wait for another rendering and uploading :S

Thanks to everybody who contributed and especially the media editors!
    Can’t wait for tomorrow!

    Folks,

If you used the Box link to upload to, or in any way provided video or files, or even moral support :), please give the names of your files and how you want to be credited (name/handle) so I can add that at the end.
I don’t want to miss anyone.
    THANKS!

    My files are:
    Spektugalo_ATalkWithJoCo_Guitar.mp3
    Spektugalo_ATalkWithJoCo_Vocal.mp3
    Spektugalo_Guitar.wmv
    Spektugalo_Vocals.wmv

Depending on whether we go with nicknames or realnames it’d be either Spektugalo or Julian, Germany, depending on if we wanna put locations in there as well 😀

Anyway, thanks a lot again for editing, now I am seriously going to bed, I’ll be a zombie tomorrow at university tomorrow anyway by now 😀

edit: Seriously last comment before I go to bed 😀
@Colleenky: I just put together your uke track and my guitar track, it actually sounds pretty amazing, as if we were actually musicians 😀
Can’t wait for the piano and the voice tracks to be added to one big awesome symphony 🙂

How you coming along with the audio @skyen? I’m planning out the video and using available tracks to sync up the different folks, but will still need the final master audio. Progress being made FTW!

My professors are screwing me a little bit these few days, so I’m experiencing delays.
Once I’ve gone through five chapters of world history and taken a bunch of notes about someone alleging a secret meeting of Nazis and Danish government officials in Rostock in 1940, I’ll get cracking on it.

(SPOILER: There was no meeting, it was conspiracy perpetuated by Danish Nazis to avoid getting thrown in jail for all time forever.)

Nice, I’m actually “done”, except waiting on the audio track to finalize and make an openning and closing with text. Rendering now and uploading to YouTube if I have time. Yay!

Not the best, but with the time constraints, I think it’s turning out nicely.
Booyah!! http://youtu.be/dDawoESneU4 (unlisted, tiny first draft).

Good job Jason! I wish I could have participated, but it’s my busiest week of the year.

    Oooh, that looks nice!
I love it so far! 🙂
Don’t wanna be super picky, but would it be possible to put me playing guitar just a tiny tiny bit later? I have a feeling it’s just 0.2-0.5 seconds too early, looks kinda off to me?

Also, I visibly screwed up the very last chord, where my fingers bounce around aimlessly for a second 😀
