I have the “Carnival of Souls” Rifftrax DVD that I won on last year’s cruise, which seems like an appropriate thing to bring along for potential viewing. I stuck my cruise-provided mustache to the Mike Nelson face on the DVD cover, where it remains. I know I had it with me for New Year’s Eve, but I’m not seeing it now. I wonder if I left it at @lostcheshire’s house.
@MJPM – FYI, I’m Jason Ruvinsky on Facebook. Earthbound Papas – I’d give the performance and the music an A, but the sound system and volume an F. They had it turned up too loud for the speakers to accurately produce the bass, and it sounded so distorted you could barely hear what they were playing. I love loud music, but good sound quality is a MUST for me. My friend ended up leaving the concert early because he felt it was impossible to actually listen to it (although he also doesn’t like the heaviness in it as much as I do). Personally, I hope I can get a CD of their songs so I can really listen!
Magfest was awesome though, the whole audience singing along to Still Alive with Ellen McLain (and her husband on banjo) was definitely a highlight. If only JoCo were there too. 😉
BTW, is anyone planning on bringing a 3DS on JoCo Cruise Crazy? Playing Mario Kart 7 and getting streetpasses at Magfest was a lot of fun, and it’d be cool to get some seamonkeys on my friend list.

On the subject of appropriate uses of things won on last year’s cruise, the $25 ThinkGeek voucher I won ($50 shared with @Colleenky) for providing the correct punctuation of Spizzwinks(?) went toward fez materials. 🙂 It was pretty much out of necessity, since their absolute minimum postage charge to Switzerland is $27.90, so I had something sent to @chicazul via Darnit Chris. I can hardly wait to see how it turned out.

Some of you probably recognize the artist as Adam Levermore, who joins Len Peralta in the Pantheon of JCCC Artistic Legends. We heartily encourage you to check out their other incredible projects.It looks like we’ll only be selling them on the ship, making it a magnificently exclusive collectible (at least unless and until we find a good option for selling it online at a later date). The actual poster will be 11×17, will be of much higher image quality, will be Sharpie-friendly, and will sell for the low, low price of $10.If you’re planning to buy one, you may want to bring along a poster tube to transport it home in pristine condition. (We’d have included the tubes (examples), but it would have required us to bring several crates of them, which would create significant difficulties. @Theaderblast The tubes at the link come in many different lengths. But yes, anything longer than 11-12″ is fine.
