ParticipantQ2: Do the lyrics appear in a song which has an ODD number in the wiki list for its album? [Note that I’m not asking about the odd-numbered TAW albums, but about the song’s position in the song list for its particular TAW album.]
A2: *Runs the to wiki and checks* … NoAugust 19, 2008 at 2:26 pm #50831Percephene
ParticipantEven numbered TAW songs in which the lyrics in question might appear:
My Monkey
Shop Vac
Someone Is Crazy
Sibling Rivalry
When I’m 25 or 64
Furry Old Lobster
Resolutions
I Will (Beatles cover)
So Far So Good
Chiron Beta Prime
A Talk with George
Stroller Town
When You Go
The Presidents
Till the Money Comes
Famous Blue Raincoat (Leonard Cohen cover)
Not About You
Drinking With You
Seahorse
Under the Pines
Mr. Fancy Pants
I’m Your Moon
Make You Cry
Summer’s Over
We Are the Champions (Queen cover)August 19, 2008 at 2:46 pm #50834MitchO
ParticipantQ3: Does the title of the song in which the lyrics appear begin with a letter before “S” in the alphabet? (Oddly enough, a lot of S’s on that list make for a non traditional spot to seperate the alphabet. A-L only contains 7, M-Z contains 18. I’m such a stat-geek)

mtgordonParticipantRevised song list, assuming somewhat conservatively that “The” isn’t counted as the first word of the title for sorting purposes:
My Monkey
Furry Old Lobster
Resolutions
I Will (Beatles cover)
Chiron Beta Prime
A Talk with George
The Presidents
Famous Blue Raincoat (Leonard Cohen cover)
Not About You
Drinking With You
Mr. Fancy Pants
I’m Your Moon
Make You CryAugust 19, 2008 at 7:13 pm #50853MitchO
ParticipantOK, I know exactly where I want to go next, but I have to wait for someone else to Q. Time to start browsing some lyrics …

I’ve learned that assumptions are dangerous in this game. It would be better to ask Dr PC to clarify his definition of “first word”

ParticipantI’ll give it freely: I never count articles when considering alphabetization in any form
On a side-note: I am listening to the song in question right now. Maybe someone here is telepathic, and will be of assistance.

ParticipantIn layman’s terms then, Mark’s assumption was correct, you do not count song’s whose title begins with The as beginning with T but with the letter of the next word?

ParticipantIn which case A Talk with George should be removed from the list also. Thanks for clearing that up!

ETA: Obv. list:
Not About You
Drinking With You

AngelasticParticipantI think at this point we could just start looking for lines matching the word count.
