Apologies if everyone thinks I'm a terminal annoyance for asking the same question twice, but…I'm desperate, so here goes. If I get no response, I'll shut up.

I really really really *really* want to go to the Jo Co show in Toronto. The problem is transportation is a little difficult. Ye old Greyhound can get me there, but the last bus out of the big city bound for Guelph, which is where I'm from, leaves at 11:30. Seeing as the show starts at 8:30, or something around that time, that sounds like it's cutting it a little close. Since he doesn't come to this neck of the woods very often, I don't want to miss anything. So if someone who is coming back in this direction would be so kind as to give me a ride back to Guelph, that would rock my world. Or…are there no Jo Co fans out here? Am I alone out here?

Yeah, sorry. I live in ‘Sauga (which isn’t anywhere near Guelph) and borrowing a car for the show, that I need to return right after. I wish I could help, but it’s not within my means.

Totally understand. Thanks anyway. Stupid greyhound.

Good luck, headrickinator. Perhaps try leaving notes in the blog comments, as well — also try the comments to the, uh, show entry (not sure what to call it, but the page you reach from the jonathancoulton.com “Shows” page — see here).

Sorry, I’m way too far away to help, though I love the name ‘Guelph’ and went past the signpost for it once. I was just thinking, have you considered asking if any Torontonians can give you a place to stay for the night, so you could take the Greyhound back in the morning?

Maybe you can find a motel close to the show, stay the night, and take a bus back in the morning? That could solve your problem and be fun. 🙂

I can't really afford to stay in a hotel, but thanks. It's a weeknight, otherwise I'd ask my sister or brother, but I didn't think they'd appreciate me arriving late, and they'd kinda have to pick me up, since I'm blind and don't have a flaming clue about the transit system in Toronto. I'll try the comment thingamabobber.

Bumping this because, well….. it’s 1:30 am in Toronto, and I thought it might be time for some JoCo forum night owls to let us know how it went!

JoCo’s twitter made it seem like he was again having airline troubles.

or maybe that message he got from the self check in was a good thing?

It was awesome. P&S nailed the opening act, the venue was sold out, and I got my Thing A Week box-set to add to my (paid for) virtual copies, and a Skullcrusher island T-shirt.

    Couldn't be better!

They have Skullcrusher Island shirts? Or did you mean Skullcrusher Mountain? (quite different)

Jeez, you impatient people! I’m training people at work all day today, so I’m away from my desk and computer. Instead of eating at lunchtime I guess I’ll post the list and some commentary now.

Good News: The banter was especially great at this show. Drink all the water, Canadians being born in pods instead of in mothers, and so on.
Bad news: You guys weren’t there to see it happen!
Good news: Luckily I managed to film it all!
Bad news: I won’t be able to edit my footage for at least a week until I get my new lappy.
More bad news: My car battery died after the show and I was home really late. I’m really dead at work today, but coffee’s helping. (Okay, so this applies more to me).

Paul and Storm played a bit more of a lengthier set than they did when I saw them in Pittsburgh, which made me happy:

    Opening Band
    Count to Ten
    Nugget Man
Mother’s Day Song (new to me, loved it!)
    Jingles
    Nun Fight
    Live (world live premiere!)
A Better Version of You (great to hear it live!)
    If ____ were ____
    Captain’s Wife’s Lament

Then there was a 25 or so minute break. I would have wanted that time to be used by JoCo to sing more, but I guess he’s somewhat human still and gets tired too.

    Jonathan played:

    The Future Soon
    Ikea
    Shop Vac
    Still Alive
    Make You Cry
    (P&S come on)
    Tom Cruise Crazy
    Curl
    Code Monkey
Soft Rocked by Me (medley: Tequila Sunrise, Summer of 69, Hand in my Pocket, song I didn’t recognize, Closing Time, Hey Jude)
    My Monkey
    Birdhouse in Your Soul
    Creepy Doll
    I Feel Fantastic
    (P&S leave)
Mr. Fancy Pants w/ obligatory rickroll
    I Crush Everything
    Skullcrusher Mountain
    Take Care of Me
    Mandelbrot Set
    You Ruined Everything
    Re Your Brains

    Encore (w/ P&S):
    Furry Old Lobster
    First of May
    Sweet Caroline

Just kidding, he didn’t play Make You Cry, Take Care of Me (those were for Bry/kerrin :P), or Furry Old Lobster (despite receiving a giant sized lobster plushie at the encore that he posted a photo of on the main site). The rest is accurate. Was a great concert, I assure you’ll love the banter once I put it up. I didn’t see anyone else filming but I could be wrong.
