@Mitch — you know what’s weird? JoCo and I hardly talk to each other after his concerts. I always go up and say hi, but he’s always surrounded by fawning fans, and it’s not like he’s going to say, “OK, all the rest of you out of the way, here comes Spiff!” So I usually just get a “Spiff!” from him, with a weirdly apologetic look on his face as if he’s a little embarrassed to be surrounded by all these people who just want to eat him up, but then that’s it. I tell him how much I enjoyed his concert, he says thanks, and then someone else walks up who will just die if they don’t get a picture and an autograph. My point is that “regular fans” are just as important to him as people like me and Kristin (if not moreso. I mean, he’s already got us in his back pocket, right? 😉
