TLDR:
Professor Shyguy
Amanda Lepre
Kevin Hearne
I’m gonna +1 any suggestions for Professor Shyguy. (I know @MJPM suggested him :-D)
Shyguy is one of the BEST stage performers I’ve ever seen! High energy, audience participation, tons of fun! He’s a chiptune artist and has many geek based songs. Video games, The Guild, and Star Wars are mentioned among other things. Also does awesome acoustic versions of several of his songs. He would be GREAT in Studio B! Awesome for a dance night!
I also +1 Amanda Lepre. She’s amazing on her own, and she also does a duet with Shyguy for Destroy Metroid that is just awesome!
Here’s Professor Shyguy’s bandcamp: https://professorshyguy.bandcamp.com/
I recommend “My Simple Pop Song” and “1-Up” from Geekotica, “Destroy Metroid (ft. Amanda Lepre)”, and “Guilded Love” from Rated Heart, and all of Unplugged: Please Check Connection (that’s the Acoustic covers) ESPECIALLY NPC. Love that one.
And Amanda Lepre’s: http://amandalepre.bandcamp.com/
I recommend “Slay the Dragon”, “Forest of Error” and “Lock + Load” off of Beneath the Forest of Error!
From the Author angle, I think Kevin Hearne would be great. He posts all sorts of fun on his Facebook and seems to like to travel, and his books The Iron Druid Chronicles are GREAT! Maybe he could do a reading as the dog Oberon from his books ;-D
