Cayamo is supposed to be spectacular, but I’ve heard the same thing Mike heard: to go, you have to already have gone.
Endgame for a popular event like this is either a cap (and the “Cayamo problem,” which isn’t such a bad problem — they have a great community, and book great acts) or unmanageable size with multiple tracks, multiple shows, and a drastic loss of community. The HO survey DID include the idea of multiple cruises, but then you end up with a split group.
I think I’d rather be capped than get too big.
