Reply To: Making FLL suck less
A friend of mine who goes on the Cayamo Cruise (one of those that takes over a whole ship, I believe) every year tells me that the only way to reliably get a cabin for the next cruise is to be on the previous cruise. They basically sell out during pre-registration. Otherwise to get on it’s put yourself on a waiting list and hope for cancellations. (She got in her first time by taking a roommate spot for someone who had a last minute cancellation.) It’s definitely a different experience than ours has been to date, and you just can’t see everything. But, having said that, she still loves it and still does it every year and still meets old and new friends every year. So I believe it can be made to work.
But maybe by or before that time JCCC would grow by adding more events per year, is another possibility. (Kind of like Pax Prime/East/Australia/Mars I suppose? Come on, Alaskan cruise….)
