– Fans/odor in the gameroom. Perhaps I’ve just been going to miniature wargaming conventions too long, but I didn’t find the smell of the room in general to be particularly offputting. When I did encounter a smell it was … generally centered on a person, let’s say. I did find the room a bit stuffy at times however, and fans would help with this problem.

– Colored reservation cards/ ambassador pins/ JoCo passport for new friend contact info. Please put these in the goodie bags with a note on their appropriate usage. I didn’t find out about some of these until later, then I kept forgetting to pick them up from the Helper Monkey area because my brain sometimes doesn’t work properly, especially during a cruise. From what I saw, a lot of Sea Monkeys would use them.

– PreJoCo and ProtoJoCo interactions (my alternative terms for snorks). Almost all of the interactions I had with other cruisers were pleasant enough. Most were curious about the group in general, and as “someone who could pass as an average person” (really, that’s what one person said – when I laughed, he looked suitably embarrassed), I was approached a fair amount. I can only think of one really negative thing that anyone said, and it mostly had to do with the sheer number of us (about 850 out of 4000-4500 passengers). But I think that appeared to be a bigger issue than it really was because of  …

– The use of publicly available spaces. Not sure how this could be fixed for office hours (nitpick: awfully work-oriented term for such a casual event!), but honestly this is an issue even on non-JoCo cruises. It’s just the responsibility of the event attendees to be as courteous as possible when using the space (not taking up more room or time than necessary, making clear pathways for non-attendees, etc.), and the responsibility of the non-attendees to do the same (not being rude or intrusive, coming back later, etc.).

– Twit-Arr/CM. Awesome tools, though I had some initial setup problems. Would have liked a Twit-Arr Barr, even for a few hours.

– Paul and Storm/Scarface/Home Office/Helper Monkeys. Thank you all so much for everything you do before, during, and after the cruise.
