@[P] I certainly don’t mean to imply here that you are wrong. Quite the contrary, I would expect you to be among the most knowledgeable on the matter. But what you’re saying directly contradicts the rules set forth at the beginning of every w00tstock. To quote Wil from 5.0: “You are welcome and encouraged to record this show in any manner you see fit, video, audio, photographs, both, under the following conditions. Anything that you tape in this theater tonight must be released under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share-Alike License. If you don’t know what that means, ask the person sitting next to you”. So I hope you’ll understand the confusion.
If it isn’t apparent by now, I have some very complicated mixed feelings about the matter. Ultimately, I think Creative Commons is one of the best things that has ever happened to the internet, and it bothers me when opportunities to use it properly are squandered, no matter how much respect I have for the performer in question.
Alright, I think both my and Home Office’s stance on the matter is clear enough for this topic. On to other things! I’ll try to post a handful of bullet points later tonight 🙂
