On recording, some monkeys get their enjoyment of the performance by recording it. Recordings of the performances is an established part of our cruise culture. It did feel condescending to be told how to appreciate a performance. Some dance, some close their eyes, some sway, some sing along. How we experience joy and art are very individual choices. Some need the camera, some need the opportunity to relive it.
Being allowed to record should be part of the performance contract. As a group we are happy to not share the recording.
Some monkeys count on the recordings when they have to miss the performance due to late hour or whatever other circumstance.
