They usually divide people into groups and call you when they are ready to disembark that group, so you are expected to disembark when your group is called, I believe, and out of your stateroom relatively early in the morning if I recall. It’s very much a “You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here” thing.
Also something to note if this is one’s first cruise as you might not be aware of it, you are expected to pack all your luggage except for an overnight back the night before and put it outside your stateroom before you go to bed the last night of the cruise. The crew gathers up everyone’s luggage overnight to expedite customs/inspections/disembarking/etc.
So plan to have some sort of small-ish bag you can keep with you overnight once you have put almost all your luggage out the night before.
