Okay, I don’t really want to get involved in this, but I can understand what @Icemage and @Bry are saying regarding obtuseness and strawmanning. @BrettGlass, you are being very abstract; I still haven’t figured out what it is that you allege EFF (and/or the corporations it’s associated with) does to strip artists of their copyright. Please be more specific. It’s clear they don’t want to completely strip everyone of all their copyright, not even leaving the option of, say, the Creative Commons license that JoCo has so profited from, because they themselves use a Creative Commons license on their website. So what is it that they want to do?
Searching for common ground would indeed be a good idea; I suspect we’d agree about not stealing from artists, given that many of the people on this forum make a habit of giving money and various promotional efforts to people who give their music away for free, even though accepting their gift of free music without paying would not be stealing. But it seems like that’s unrelated to whatever it is you think EFF is doing. I can’t even tell whether it’s related or not because you haven’t said exactly what that is.
