What about stickers for the back of the badge? Stickers are relatively cheap and people could pick them up during the cruise too if they didn’t know about them beforehand (such as the I Crunch Everything/Nothing groups). That would probably be less intimidating or exclusionary because they could just be stuck onto the back of the badge and if people see one that suits them, they can just grab one and add it to theirs.
