@Thalandor46: We’re looking to enable, not compel. There’s a huge difference. I figure the target audience are people who would normally throw some coins in her virtual tip jar or contribute to the Donor’s Circle anyway, so if the funds are insufficient — or if something comes up that prevents her from going on JCCC3, they’ll go into her operating fund.
My motivation (and I suspect co-conspirator Glenn is similarly-motivated) for this is simple: do something nice for someone who has done right by so many people. I can’t do it for everyone I’d like to, but an idea has to start somewhere. I don’t expect any reward beyond knowing I did this thing, and the result was happy people.
