Reply To: JoCo Cruise Crazy 3: Get excited and talk about things!
BTW, on another cruise-related topic: I’ve recently begun to formulate my own hand sanitizer that’s designed to kill, among other things, the bacteria and viruses that are most likely to spread on cruise ships. It’s inexpensive to make (commercial sanitizers carry a huge markup!), vanishes in less than a minute (it’s alcohol-based), and doesn’t leave your hands sticky like the ones that contain aloe or other goo. But it should protect at least as well as any commercial sanitizer — hopefully better — for a couple of hours after application. I’ll be testing it on some staph and e. coli cultures when I have a chance. I’ve also put in some ingredients to condition skin and to make it more effective against enteric-germinating organisms (at least according to the latest published research). Please note that I am making this preparation for personal use and NOT for sale — I’m not interested in jumping through all of the bizarre regulatory hoops — but if anyone wants to use it to fend off “cruise crud” they’re most welcome to have some.
