@mrgoldenbrown: I have never, in my 43 years on this earth (most of which has been spent in Oklahoma and Texas, or around Oklahomans and Texans), heard “mosey” used in any context that implied haste. Quite the opposite: “mosey” inherently implies a decided absence of haste.
In that way, mosey and meander are very similar. Despite my earlier post on the subject, a “mosey” typically has a destination in mind and a more-or-less direct path to that destination, although the journey is to be prolonged and savored, while a “meander” may or may not have a specific destination in mind, and the path is far from direct, while the pace is similarly relaxed.
Anyone have an extra lance?
