I also approve this thread. I am a foodie, and I am planning on taking a break from minding my diet to really enjoy the cruise. Last year I ended up losing all the weight I gained on the cruise within a week afterwards, so I’m not going to worry too much about that, and just enjoy myself. It’s a vacation.
I have to agree that the food was generally above average (Lido) to exceptional (dining room dinner most nights). It occassionally really blew me away (Surf and Turf with Jumbo Shrimp and Filet Mignon). It’s not the single most amazing dining experience in the world, but it’s definitely all better than average. I’m especially looking forward to being able to order whatever I want without wallet-guilt. I love free room service (including ordering breakfast the night before to be delivered in the morning), and unlimited meal-plan ordering in the dining room. Of course the buffet has a huge range of options and is unlimited as well.
I will say that the “bbq” on Halfmoon Cay was very disappointing. Not sure if I’ll bother with it this time.
