@ducky: you will want to download the Status.net client for your phone. There’s a free one for iPhone and Android. If you’re going to check in via computer only, there will be a url handed out near the beginning of the cruise (likely something like 192.168.1.12 or some other ip in a private network range) that you can use to read and send updates.
