Morale somewhat boosted! Of course, there’s no logical reason why you’d want a bunch of robots singing this particular song to JoCo, but I did it anyway, because it didn’t seem any less sane than sitting around banging random objects late at night. They’re not real robots, just the ordinary built-in Mac speech synthesiser twisted to my own nefarious ends.

A couple of the lines actually crash the speech synthesiser, thus proving that I’m more evil than my robots. I haven’t gone through and figured out which lines that is yet or why, so I can’t make audio of the entire song yet. I just took out the first few broken lines I found and made a very rough sample of the beginning in a couple of different voices so that @skyen can decide whether there’s a place for them in the cover. I didn’t bother to change the tune in the few places where our lyrics have a different number of syllables to JoCo’s, so there are a few lines that it tries to sing in the original tune where they don’t fit. Of course I’ll fix that tomorrow (and find the other broken lines so I can get it to sing almost the whole song) if you want to use it. I can also easily create separate sound files for each line so they can be more easily aligned with other voices, and I can also easily change the speed or octave of one or all lines.

So anyway, here’s the first part of A Talk With JoCo (minus the lines ‘About the things that you should do’ and ‘on stage with Storm and Paul’ because they made my robots explode) sung by my Mac in female voices. Vicki is supposedly a better-quality voice, but I find Victoria is better at singing (neither were created with singing in mind.) I can also do male voices and various deliberately robot-like or novelty voices, but the novelty voices are older and don’t usually get the timing right.
ETA: I should mention that my robot choir (that is, the program I wrote to create files in the format that makes the Mac sing. Can you see why I prefer to call it a robot choir?) got the tune from an Ultrastar file that @Spektugalo made. 🙂
