I was a kid in the age of vinyl. We enjoyed records as much for their capability to spin smurf figurines as for the music (apparently Wil Wheaton used to do the same with Star Wars figurines.) I used to think a Compact Disc was one of those small records (possibly 45s, possibly just singles, I don’t know.) We had one of Star Trekkin’ by The Firm.
