So long… and thanks for all the fish…

It is with sadness and regret that I must announce that I will not be an attendee on JoCoCruiseCrazy 2. No Sea Monkey points for me.

This also means that it would be sad for me to continue participating in your planning, and helping you out with guidance about ports and shipboard life, so I’ll be going dark now.

I’ll be at Dragon*Con this year as a guest… I know some of you will be going there to see Wil and Paul and Storm and JoCo. Be sure to look for me wherever you go… I show up in the most unusual places. 🙂

Perhaps I will see you all on the inevitable future cruise!

Indeed, I will not be an attendee of JoCoCruiseCrazy 2012. However, I have had room 6001 on the Westerdam held in reserve for me (booked through Neil), debating whether I would just simply attend as a NonSeaMonkey doing what I typically do when I’m not putting on a seminar on a ship (basically, “relax”). And in the past few weeks, I’ve decided I would. The other InsightCruise near that time has just been cancelled, and that’s a good time to go to the Southern Caribbean, so why waste the booking?

So, I won’t be attending any of the performances or private events that require a JoCoCruiseCrazy2 badge, but I’ll be in the same bars and restaurants and shore excursions and hallways and hot tubs as the rest of y’all.
I mentioned this to @Grimoire immediately after my Facebook posting, so that he wouldn’t immediately give up my slot, with the promise that if I did decide to cancel my room (I have until December) I would let him know immediately.
I know a few of you are probably confused by all of this. But I couldn’t be public about my participation until I was sure I was coming, and now I am. (I also did try to give the hint in the message above to look for me anyway, and “future cruise”, but that was probably too subtle.)
See you in February!
