Reply To: Filming a Jonathan Coulton Musical in July
This project is DEFINITELY still alive, and doing very well actually!
We’ve partnered with Child’s Play Charity and have decided that our
profit from the film will go towards helping the charity benefit
children’s hospitals around the world. We released a teaser trailer a
few months ago to see what kind of reaction people would have, and it’s
been pretty positive so far. I can’t say it’s been a smooth ride, but
it’s been a tremendous learning experience so that our next endeavor
will go smoother…least that’s my hope.
We’re trying to secure theatre space in Chicago now to have a nice
release party. I’ve contacted ThinkGeek.com and they’re willing to help
us out with stuff to auction off at the release, hopefully to raise more
money for Child’s Play. I’m surprised this thread is still alive, I
actually thought peoples’ interest died out a while back. If you want to
check out our teaser trailer, here it is –>

We should have concrete release info and a full trailer soon…
And for the record, the giant squid was TERRIBLE to work with. Demanded
his own trailer, was constantly drunk, and never knew his lines. Just
unprofessional…
