This concert was so full of win.
Going through my audio recording collecting a set list. I’ll have a complete audio recording to post (I think we’re going to try to drop levels on some of the more ear-splitting crowd involvement first.) I have video of all of Paul & Storms set and the first half of JoCo…unfortunately my battery died BEFORE my impromptu presentation of a companion cube cupcake to JoCo in the leadup to Still Alive.
Highlights:
* JoCo coming out of the venue to record the lineup on his iPhone as a few of us sang Dan Mangan’s “Robots”
* The cupcakes being overall well received
* Paul and Storm getting derailed by the…let’s say “high energy” audience
* Having JoCo lead up to Still Alive by asking “Cake: lie or not?”, which seemed the perfect opening to hand over the one decorated cupcake in my arsenal. I swear I did not intend to hijack the banter, but JoCo wishing me a happy birthday was pretty awesome.
* Rushing the stage in zombie fashion during the first chorus of “Re: Your Brains”
* Paul pointing out that my ukulele had the front-row centre seat (I was sitting on the floor)
* Getting two encores, even though the second time was past curfew.
