Really fun show last night! It looked to me like the place was pretty much sold out.
Paul and Storm started right on time at 8. Their set list was:
Paul and Storm Theme song
We are the Opening Band
Nugget Man
Day before the Day Before Christmas
Frogger the Musical.
Nun Fight
Live
Shorts incl.
James Taylor
Bob Dylan
Aaron Neville
The Captains Wifes Lament
They finished right at 9.
According to the Granada the intermission was supposed to be 20 mins. It was closer to 35. Way too long IMHO.
JoCo’s set list:
Not about You
Ikea
Shop Vac
Code Monkey
Under the Pines
W/ Paul and Storm:
Tom Cruise Crazy
Big Bad World One
Blue Sunny Day
Always the Moon
Soft Rocked
Creepy Doll
Mr Fancy Pants
Millionaire Girlfriend
Skullcrusher Mountain
Future Soon
Still Alive
Mandelbrot Set
Re: Your Brains
“Encore”:
A Talk with George
Istanbul
Highlights:
There was no clapping on Shop Vac i attribute this to a long intermission and having to work the crowd energy back up.
Under the Pines! Supposedly a tweet request. This is a pretty rare song for his live shows. He joked about having to look up the lyrics on the wiki before the show. I managed to record this one song on my phone. I’ll share that as soon as I can.
Tom Cruise Crazy: During the ‘Mouth Trumpet’ solos Storm did the Imperial March theme leading to the last chorus being “Darth Vader is Tom Cruise Crazy” Hilarity ensued post song with talk of Vader jumping on Oprah’s sofa and dancing in his underwear.
Always the moon: Taking advantage of the excellent acoustics of the Granada they did this song unplugged at the front of the stage.
This was my first time seeing Soft Rocked live. Also they did Istanbul as an Encore.
All in all a very fun show. A++. Would watch again.
ETA: Under the Pines was a tweet request. It was MY tweet request. lol. I was so focused on Screwed that I forgot I had requested that one.
