it got me thinking. What if we more directly juxtaposed the idea of the unfulfilled programer yearning to breath free with that of Laika’s cold war era soviet union.
So then, JoCo is a Soviet era prole (but still anachronistically, a computer programmer) working hard to please his overlords. This fits nicely with the propaganda themes early in the song. “what your about to do will live on forever, etc.” and I like the image of joco in the big furry hat he’s got but with a red star on it.
