When I was growing up, kids weren’t allowed to have coffee, tea was permitted, but we preferred hot chocolate or hot apple cider (made with those awful single-use packets of powder that you mix with hot water) if we could get it. These days I have some mommy friends who allow their kids to have coffee and some mommy friends who do not (I’m in the latter camp). We’re big on tea in my house, and we also drink it out of enormous coffee mugs. My daughter (who just turned 6, yay December birthdays!) prefers herbal teas, like peppermint and chamomile.
