So Dr. Perry Cox…

Well, it’s not that simple. It’s true that patch 3.3 is out and we can now take down Arthas (not like I’m ever going to do that, I’m no hard-core raider). But the model viewers are made by WoW fans with some coding skills and no affiliation with Blizzard, so it may be some time before any of the various viewers out there are updated to include the new stuff. And even when that happens, it may be buggy or have other problems that could stop me from using it for my videos.

However, I’m pretty sure I can finish off my “Still Alive” video without an updated Model Viewer. The only reason I stopped work on it was because of the partnership I recently announced with Machinima.com. What happened was, I was in talks with them to partner up, and suggested that we make my next video be the first one that would be featured on Machinima.com. They loved the idea, but when they found out that I was working on “Still Alive”, they said they couldn’t use it because the song belongs to Valve. I still thought it was a better idea to lead off the partnership with a new video than to just say, “you can now go watch all of Spiff’s old videos, which you’ve already seen a million times, over on Machinima.com”, so I put “Still Alive” on the shelf and started work on “Blue Sunny Day”, which I’ll be posting up this Sunday (Dec. 13).

So, after a short break to enjoy the new WoW patch, I’ll be dusting off “Still Alive”, which was about half finished when I shelved it, if I remember correctly, and finishing it off. Even if Machinima.com can’t use it, I still want to post it to my YouTube channel. I doubt there’s any danger of Valve or anyone caring enough to try to take it down.
