OK, all acoustic guitar parts re-recorded, everything tweaked, leveled down, more headroom, aligned as best I can, and better sustain on the chords.

Remaining to-dos for me in my current order of priority:

– Alignment, alignment, alignment. Verse 1 has an alignment issues between the handbells and vocals, the guitars seem to be pretty well aligned with themselves. Chorus 1 has terrible alignment — it’s a timing train wreck, especially with the 12-string riff. Verse 2 seems quite nicely aligned everywhere. Chorus 2 seems to be aligned OK… the whole bridge/solo part seems to be aligned OK except for a few chord changes where the mandolin drags… but it almost sounds intentionally syncopated. Verse 3 seems to aligned OK… chorus 3 seems to be aligned OK… so maybe I can just get by with replacing the 12-string riff on chorus 1, and maybe shifting back the handbells on the first verse forward (?) by…200 msec?

– I screwed up the 12-string riff and recorded with audio on the speakers, and it breaks through the compressor at some points, and muddies up the sound stage. So, that track could use re-recorded yet again — for the fourth time (one of my takes from last night seems to have vanished into Logic somewhere). This might also help with alignment for that part.

– There’s some of my breathing on the finger-picked guitar track that is evident especially in the tail where the chords are sustained. I didn’t really anticipate that… but I’m close-micing them with a small diaphragm condenser mic (only a few inches from the sound hole) and I have to breathe… don’t tell me I need to redo them again with a windscreen on the mic… that will take away some of the clarity… AAAAUUUGGGHHHH!!!

– Upload my guitar solo and upload updated versions of all my source tracks (dry and wet) in case other folks want to mess with them.

I am a bit surprised to see no comments at all on the mixes… pfft, pfft, is this thing on? Is it that bad?
