To be honest, there’s a lot of back catalog stuff that Jonathan simply doesn’t know how to play very well. He’s generally OK with the songs that he has often performed live, but he often struggles to play songs that aren’t a regular part of the live shows. In a sense, he’s still catching up with Thing a Week. Now with respect to your requests, he’s played DSJD live plenty of times, and Space Doggity gets played a lot these days; I’m not sure why he skipped those. I don’t think he’s ever played Lady Aberlin’s Muumuu or BDFaP live; the former demands a different sort of backup singer than Paul or Storm (the female backing vocalist in the original is his sister; maybe Molly could help with that at some point), and demands for the latter have become more of a running gag than a serious request. Beyond the fact that I think he finds the song a bit distasteful, it demands an accordion.
Chiron Beta Prime may have been on the set list but gotten struck in the interest of time. Recruiting a “message redacted” volunteer is fun, but it’s a bit time-consuming.
