People still make playlists? And CDs? [ETA: and have cars?] I live for eclectic song groupings. Well, that and chocolate. I rebel against your ‘grouping’ idea and put them all together along with other music from all over the normality spectrum, in order to surprise the hypothetical friend in my hypothetical car, which would be playing music from a real iPod. I defend my right not to choose!
I do have themed playlists, such as monkeys, robots, songs for slightly warped vegetarians, songs for slightly warped Jews (actually I haven’t made that playlist yet, but I’ve been meaning to, because I have a surprisingly high number of slightly warped songs which mention Jews), one for a friend who was trying for a baby at the time (and has now succeeded, though she never managed to get my CD to play), special occasions, parodies of [song name] (whenever I get more than three of the same one), songs in this or that language, but they usually include more than just JoCo.
ETA: So my advice would be to find some way to connect the mp3 player to your car, maybe an FM transmitter or pretend-tape-with-a-tail if you can’t connect it directly.
