Its a fine line.
At the Glasgow Show it would have been the easiest thing in the world to have hung around and ‘been in’ Jonathan’s company.
But realistically… what would it achieve?
I’m happy to listen to the songs, watch him play (join him on occasion! ;’ )) )
And let him get on with what he does.
I don’t foster any delusions that hanging around after a show will make us great pals, cos he meets dozens of people at every show he does, I am sure.
And he lives on the other side of the world.
It’s always nice to get some kind of ‘recognition’ from our heroes… the trouble starts when you feel you ‘know’ them.
I think Jonathan is very open and trusting with his fanbase, but we should be careful we don’t overstretch that ‘kindness’ and patience when meeting the man.
