I'm pretty sure the tuning on the original recording is just a standard uke tuning with low G, that is, GCAE, although I could be wrong.
A uke tuned that way is the same as a guitar, just a perfect 4th higher, so you could play the same fingerings on guitar by putting a capo on the 5th fret and of course ignoring the two low strings.

But he definitely plays it in a different key live… in fact it could just be a 4th lower because he's playing the same chord shapes on guitar, but I'm not really certain of that. They kind of discourage me actually playing my guitar in my office at work…
