Many European countries have state religions, and most people feel satisfied that by paying their taxes they’ve satisfied any and all religious obligations (which, as taxpayers, they may resent).
I can’t speak for any other European country, but I’d find it hard to believe that ANY of them view ‘paying their taxes’ as a religious action/obligation.
