Ok, y’all. I’m a bit more calm than I must have appeared earlier. I went to church this morning. Why? Because I like the way it smells, feels and sounds and I haven’t been there in about 4 months. With the amount of work I am doing right now in politics, it was time to confess my sins – kidding. (technically, many would not consider me to be a Christian because I don’t buy any of the miracles or even the son of god thing) Also, my minister is a lefty at heart and even though his congregation consists mostly of well-healed Republicans, he is a fanTAStic guy who can unite people. Today his sermon was on the Golden Rule. He gave examples of it from each of the following: Torah, Koran, Hindu Teachings (whatever they are called) and Bahai. Kind of like Colleenky said:
the laws of the land must be held to a higher standard than just one religion’s philosophy. They must pass muster among all religions and among those who are not religious.
