@Colleenky: One of the side effects of Hotelling’s model is that we never really know the true opinions of those running for an office they’ve never held before, since they’re all reading from a script. The resulting voter distrust favors incumbents, the devil you know.
@Spiff: No, I’m saying that not everything Israel does is inherently evil. I don’t hold everything beyond the Green Line as sacrosanct Palestinian territory simply because Jordan (looking at the West Bank) happened to hold that territory in 1949. Israeli control of the West Bank now is no less legitimate than Jordanian control was then, at which point one can argue that the Jordan River, as the 1967 cease fire line, is equally sacrosanct.
