Knowing a little about Angelastic, I wonder whether her having heard of Obama is related to the fundraiser George Clooney’s going to hold for him in Geneva, of all places. Of course, knowing a little about Angelastic, I also wonder whether she’s heard of George Clooney… 😉
I have heard of George Clooney, he’s the guy on ER whose appearance reminds me of the one on the NZ satire program (Skitz? Issues?) who had muesli on his face in order to impersonate Bill Ralston. And I was rather taken aback when the man in the office across from mine asked me last week whether I wanted to have lunch with George Clooney. I wasn’t particularly enthusiastic, and became even less enthusiastic when he mentioned that it would cost ten thousand monetary units. I can’t remember whether it was dollars or francs.
Anyway, it looks like that was the fundraiser you refer to, and I heard about Obama long before it (though I didn’t realise he had anything to do with the George Clooney thing.) It was several months ago when I saw somebody with a T-shirt advertising him, and I already knew even at that time that he was a US politician competing against those other ones whom I can’t remember the names of right now but Edwards didn’t figure prominently enough for me to notice, and supposedly the most important thing about it was that one was ‘black’ and the other was a woman, which is I suppose the usual level of political superficiality.
Didn’t notice the Olympic opening ceremony, but the fireworks for the end of the Geneva Festival were spectacular. For some of them we could even feel the shockwaves.
