I have some FLAC questions…. I’m thinking of buying some but not sure if I should. How big are the files, compared to the mp3’s? How much do you notice the difference in quality? I’ve got an iPod full of JoCo mp3 files, and they sound great. Do the FLACs really sound better? Can I even play them on an iPod?
As for the question of scruples, I have quite a bit of JoCo music that I have not paid for, and I don’t feel bad about it at all. As near as I can tell, that’s his whole theory: He’d much rather that I have his music unpaid for, than not have it at all. If I didn’t have it, then I couldn’t push it on my family and friends and create more fans (which I do). That said, I do plan on paying him for all of it eventually, and more. Most likely that will come in the form of buying CD’s I don’t need when I see him live, or buying bananas on this website. I can’t think of a musician who deserves it more!
But if you don’t have the money at the moment, don’t let that stop you from downloading and enjoying his music. JoCo would want you to.
