I was listing in/type commenting on thier Grifball podcast the other night as a guest, knew nothing about the sport but since I play WOW I asked if in addition to offense and defense and someone to move the ball, they had healers. It was interesting hearing their (muffled and often unintelligible) British voices :o)
To go back to the subject since we diverted it so neatly though, I think that people who think that their private info is safe are, frankly- fools. Or very very naive. Anything out there electronically can be gotton to, even the most encrypted military stuff has to be constantly monitored for people trying to hack it. We used to change the crypto code daily to access one system in the tech control when I was in the Army and NG, and that was over ten years ago. I don’t like it, but don’t see any way to stop the buying and selling of personal information. Info is the new gold standard for wealth I guess, and people are going to do whatever they can to farm for it so they can sell it off. “Do whatever you can to get ahead, no matter who it hurts” is not a new concept, it is just one that isn’t as publicly condemned as it used to be.
