this is weird. i just looked up “pabulum” and apparently it carries the following senses:
- food; especially : a suspension or solution of nutrients in a state suitable for absorption
- intellectual sustenance
- something (as writing or speech) that is insipid, simplistic, or bland
it looks like the second and third senses contradict somewhat. thoughts?
