The very best thing, for me, about Jonathan Coulton is the fact that he is not a one-hit-wonder. His prolific output, coupled with his skill as a singer/songwriter, leaves me in a constant state of discovery. Thing-A-Week, etc. translates to “Favorite-A-Week.” This week, it is “Dance SJ Dance.” Last week it was “Octopus.” The week before that it was “A Talk With George.”
I played “I Feel Fantastic” for a group of 14 year old kids I was schlepping around town the other night and they went NUTS over it.
I played “Shop Vac” for a group of middle-aged suburban couples another night last week and THEY went NUTS. Something for everyone, at every age for every mood.
