I just read the thread, and it seems alot of you guys are seeing this Paul-flavor as well. There was a bit too much Paul and Storminess in Live, but I’m gonna try and give it another chance.
Is this a bad thing? Yes it means that in terms of the competition due to the challenge being to make a song that could be mistaken for the other artist it is bad. However, purely as a song, disregarding what it was written for, it is a lovely song. The only reason people are being mean about it is because the bar is so damn high. When you have P&S vs. JoCo there is no way that the decision will not come down to something small and tiny nit picking. Especially with this challenge when the individual styles are irrelevant it is how well they emulate the other, not what type of song you prefer. I think the fact that we are picking up on such tiny details about the song is a credit to both artists that they have emulated each other so well we need to go to this level of detail to find a winner in our minds. I don’t think there has been a comment from someone who doesn’t like one of the songs.
