After much deliberation, JoCo got my vote. As for the challengers, it was down to Cloakie, Run at the Dog, and Jeff Macdougall. I liked the music in Cloakie’s song, but once I figured caught on to how juvenile his lyrics were he was out. As for the Run at the Dog, half the time I’m not sure what they’re singing about, and the tune seems to be all over the place with the pace. And I really liked how Jeff MacDougall’s combination actually formed a cohesive story and he played with mixing Hawking-ish concepts with dessert (big band in your mouth) so he got my vote. Although, what’s this about vacationing in Maine making you dumb? That one line seemed sort of out of place.
