Very nice Jinx. At this point i think I will go into what I think of Microsoft in a bit more detail. In some respects I do not like them at all, but in others it is undeniable they are well the best. Their office sweet is, as far as I am aware second to none. They do do that very well that department of microsoft is very good. I am yet to see anything do it better, I have used openoffice and google documents but neither really stand up to microsoft office. However, office should not be included in any PC/Mac argument as it is fully supported on both machines, office is available on Macs and until office ’08 came out there was a better version of office on Macs than Windows. I have Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc on my Mac as I am used to them, they are the most commonly used programs and I have found nothing better.
Microsoft also have a lot of directions that I am completely unaware of, they apparently have some quite good server software that I don’t know much about. They are a huge company, and they are very good at what they do. Although they do seem to have a trend of copying other people and their ruthless business strategies annoy me. If there is a competitor they will buy them and dissolve their technology. I think they are too big for their own good really. Monopolies cause dis-economies. I also probably have quite a skewed view of microsoft due to my family and the sources of news I read. They are definitely not all bad.

I am liking the fact people here have “shopped around” and tried out lots of different solutions to the OS problem. I would very much like to try out other operating systems other than Windows and OSX. I have a friend at school who uses open-BSD and there used to be an Ubuntu system in my house my brother used.

I think I have used too strong words in this thread, I don’t hate anyone I have preferences and dislikes.
