Reply To: Random Rules in the Onion
I was thinking about the comments JoCo made about Paul McCartney. Ironically, I came to the conclusion just this year that Lennon and McCartney never did as well on their own. They really needed each other to make the song writing happen. The serendipity of their collaboration (and I think that it was truly that) was never matched after the Beatles broke up. Sure, there were a few songs that each of them wrote that are memorable but the sum of their parts were . . . well, ‘nuf said.
